Sany was born in 1986 in Prague and is the longest-active female graffiti artist in the Czech Republic. Inspired by the traditional “New York School” graffiti lettering style, she began writing her name “Sany”, in 2002. She is now a well-known figure in the global street art scene and a member of two international all-female graffiti crews, “PUFF” and “PMS.”
Sany has traveled the world, leaving her art in cities such as Moscow, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Cape Town, Amman, Sydney, Bangkok and Mexico City. As an artist, Sany focuses on supporting women and minorities and advocating for their rights. Through her work, she creates a platform for these groups to share their voices. Her art often incorporates elements of activism that highlight issues such as gender inequality, violence, and stereotypes. These projects aim to build stronger communities and promote mutual solidarity. However, she is open to pursuing more commercial projects if they align with her artistic vision and respect her work as an artist. For example, in 2018, she became the face and designer of the global graffiti campaign “Hidden Classic” for Reebok and Montana Cans. The campaign was shot in West Hollywood alongside numerous superstars, including Ariana Grande and Gigi Hadid.
Sany’s work also includes filmmaking. Her documentary film “Girl Power” captured the global emancipation of women in graffiti, becoming part of graffiti history and inspiring women worldwide to pursue their dreams. Currently, she is working on two other film projects: One is a land film and the other a documentary movie. Sany also organizes various events and teaches graffiti and street art classes globally.
Despite the challenges of having a young daughter at home, she is still active and continues to prove that regardless of gender or where you come from, one can achieve their dreams if they want to. While she still travels for work, Sany is currently based in Prague and Berlin.
