A year after the release of the Girl Power movie, we also released a DVD. I thought DVDs were almost a dead medium, but we ended up selling 1,300 copies – all over the world! For the Girl Power DVD release, Leny and I created the name of our crew and the film title on a 300-meter-long wall. The wall is up to 4 meters high in some places. On the sides, we added our names – Sany, Leny – stars, the Girl Power title, and a big heart.
We started in December 2016 and finished in January 2017, when the temperatures were below freezing. The water in the latex paints froze, just like we did. It took us about a week to complete the pieces, but despite the harsh conditions, it was an amazing experience. In our graffiti, you can even see a tag: “It is so cold, but we are hot!” – a reference to the freezing weather. We also filmed a video where Leny cooks latex in the kitchen. When we started with graffiti, some guys would overwrite our work with tags saying, “Go back to the kitchen.” So, we decided to celebrate our success in the kitchen – and what we “cooked up,” you can see for yourselves.
