I felt that if something was happening in the Czech Republic, it was mainly in Prague, where young people from different regions gathered. However, I wanted to bring life to smaller cities as well, so together with the BU2R projects, we came up with a concept to support fresh events in the regions. Having been involved in breakdancing myself, I reached out to friends from České Budějovice who were passionate about it, and together we launched BUD Wars – an energetic battle of dance crews with an accompanying program full of music, workshops, lectures, and other activities. Dancers from all over the Czech Republic and even from abroad came to participate. The result? A huge success that exceeded all expectations. The city of České Budějovice even provided us with a grant, which allowed us to take the event to an even higher level the following year.
